Founder of Routal. I help companies optimize their logistics through AI and Lean methodologies.
LinkedInXavier Ruiz is the founder and CEO of Routal. A computer science engineer by training and entrepreneur by vocation, Xavier has dedicated the last decade to transforming complex data into simple operational solutions. Before leading Routal, he was Tech Lead at the incubator Incubio and a technical mentor at Google Launchpad, where he perfected his methodology for building high-efficiency development teams.
Today, his mission is clear: to disrupt last-mile logistics using Artificial Intelligence to extract hidden insights from operational data. Xavier combines a Lean mindset ("Think fast, Do quick") with deep technical expertise to help companies optimize their routes. He firmly believes in the "give first" mantra and the value of multidisciplinary knowledge for strategic decision-making.
In line with this vision, he actively collaborates with universities and logistics-focused institutions such as CEL, ICIL, and Camilo José Cela University, contributing to the dissemination of knowledge and strengthening the connection between academia and the operational realities of the sector.

SMART Bays: smart management of loading and unloading zones
SMART BAYS is an R+D+i project that transforms the management of urban loading and unloading areas through artificial intelligence, digital twins and real-time monitoring, with the objective of making the last mile more efficient and sustainable. Within the consortium, Routal leads research in the optimization of routes adapted to dynamic squares, integrating logistics planning with the real availability of urban space. The result: lower emissions, less congestion and a new generation of intelligent urban logistics aligned with climate neutral cities.

Logistic Restrictions in 2026: ZBE, Windows Hours and Electric Charging (and how to win with Routal)
In 2026, logistical restrictions tighten: more low-emission zones, more control by schedule and more operational impact of electric charging. The key is to convert “what can't be” into planning rules (zones, time windows, type of vehicle and charging times). With Routal, route optimization and automatic planning help you comply with regulations, reduce incidents and improve ETAs without improvising.
